Remember who visited EPPG in May?

Remember who visited EPPG in May, and gave a wonderful colloquium on “IceCube: The First Decade of Neutrino Astronomy”? Yes, it was Francis Halzen who today got awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics “for decisive contributions to the IceCube Neutrino Observatory and the discovery of high-energy neutrinos of astrophysical origin”.  Learn more at https://www.nobelprize.org/prizes/physics/2026/summary/

This is wonderful news, not just for our local IceCube group or EPPG, but for all of Belgium. And for everyone doing research on Neutrinos and Astroparticle Physics.  We are very proud and overjoyed that Francis’ pioneering work, and wonderful achievements got honored in the most prestigious way.

Congratulations from the local Cubers and all of EPPG!
